The Pelagos Data Centres is a major new digital infrastructure project, designed to position Gibraltar as a leader in Europe’s AI and data-driven future. Located near the Port of Gibraltar, the 20,000 m² facility will provide up to 250 MW of capacity across five modular phases, each built to Tier III standards with a PUE target of 1.2 or better.

Sustainability and resilience are at the core of the design, with energy supplied from renewables and LNG, supporting a path toward net-zero operational emissions by 2030. The facility will operate on a self-sufficient energy system, ensuring resilience and reducing reliance on Gibraltar’s existing grid. Advanced cooling systems and innovative heat-reuse strategies aim to further minimize environmental impact.

Architecturally, the massing has been carefully designed and split into smaller parts, breaking down the scale into a modular form.

Further to its technological performance, the project is designed with the community in mind, introducing new public spaces, landscaped areas, and vibrant amenities that enhance the surrounding waterfront and deliver long-term social benefits. Construction is due to begin in 2026, with phased completion through 2033.
