A Victorian House in Stamford Hill has been entirely reworked to include a contemporary two-storey rear extension and minimalist interior tailored to suit the needs of the client.

A spacious extension includes a wine cellar, additional bedrooms and a study in the basement and a double-height kitchen/living/dining room that opens out onto the garden at the rear of the property. Full-height glazed doors blur the boundary of the indoor and outdoor spaces.

The design of the extension adopts an angled roof clad in a dark zinc which creates a striking contrast to the rest of the property.

Internally, one of the key features of the design is the new stairwell which is characterised with an ellipse shaped void providing vertical views from basement level through to loft level. A strategically placed rooflight above floods the stairwell with natural daylight.

The scheme has been approved for planning permission and technical design developed for the project to begin on site in late 2022.
