Located on a prominent site in Mitcham Town Centre, the scheme adds an upwards extension to a mixed-use parade to provide additional residential units.

The design plays an important role in breathing life back into the town centre, creating a distinct local landmark.

The recessed form of the extension replicates the curvature of the existing building at its corner. An art deco style is applied to the scheme which is visible in its choice of colour palette and signage which forms a focal point on the corner of the parade.

Nodding to the green art deco elements on the existing building, the extension is enveloped in a green copper cladding. Large floor to ceiling glazing floods the residential units with natural light while providing clear views out to Fairgreen below.

Following positive consultation with the London Borough of Merton, the application was unanimously approved at planning committee by Local Councillors.
